Sparks Police are taking over the investigation into a shooting involving Reno Police Tuesday afternoon. Reno Police say their search for a suicidal man, a search that led to a brief lockdown at Mt. Rose Elementary School earlier in the day, led them to the area of Marsh Avenue and Nixon Street, just south of California Avenue and the Truckee River. Police say they spent a long time talking to the man, and then circumstances led them to use “non-lethal force” to subdue him. The man, who has not been identified, is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The man was also the subject of a search Monday afternoon at California and Lander streets, east of where Tuesday’s incident took place.
