Jacobs Entertainment Plans to Preserve Hotel Signs on Fourth Street

Following public outcry by Reno historians, who were unhappy with Jacobs Entertainment demolishing all the old hotels on West Fourth Street and the neon signs that advertised them, Jacobs is now saying they’re going to save some of the remaining signs from demolition, so they can be preserved. They expect to save around half a dozen. Historians had hoped to save the hotels in the area that Jacobs is now calling the “Fountain District” from being torn down too, but were unsuccessful in that fight.
