Man Arrested in Standoff, Wanted For Attempted Murder in Gardnerville

A man arrested after a standoff in Wadsworth had already served time for murder; and was also wanted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs for an attempted murder in Gardnerville. Rocky Boice Jr is now charged in federal court with kidnapping, use of a firearm during a crime of violence, felon in possession of a firearm, and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. He also has been told to forfeit his weapons and ammunition. Boice, Jr. surrendered about 2AM February 27th after barricading himself in a home on Railroad Circle. After a medical evaluation, he is being held in the Washoe County jail A female acquaintance inside the home with him was taken to a hospital with stab wounds and a gunshot wound, and is recovering.
