Senator Heller Will Fight For Bumpstock Ban

Senator Dean Heller is applauding the Department of Justice for issuing a proposed rule that will ban bump stocks, a device used by the Las Vegas gunman, following a mandatory comment period. The proposed rule will clarify that bump stocks fall within the definition of “machinegun” under federal law and thus are prohibited. Once published in the Federal Register there will be a 90-day comment period for the proposed rule. Heller says six months after the October First Massacre many of our friends, loved ones, and neighbors are still experiencing grief. He says he will continue to monitor this process during the 90-day comment period and work with the Administration to ensure a bump stock ban is enacted.
