Nevada Job Growth Remained Strong for February

Job growth remained strong throughout the Silver State in February, with employment increases in Reno, Carson City, Storey County, and Las Vegas, according to by the state’s Department of Employment and Training. The February economic report says growth was distributed throughout the state. Las Vegas added more than 26 thousand jobs over the past year and 26 hundred in February, Storey County grew 700 jobs in the month, as did Reno, and Carson City jobs grew by 300. Unemployment continues to slide, with the unemployment rate down in 13 of 17 counties and initial claims for unemployment benefits down in 12 of 17 counties over the year. Elko, Eureka, Humboldt and Lander counties all had an unemployment rate of 4.0 percent or less.
