Truckee Meadows fire crews rescued some deer, who were swept down a canal, and got stuck in a Verdi, Nevada Hydroelectric power plant. Two of the deer died of hypothermia, the others were also suffering from hypothermia, and some were badly cut from the ordeal. people from TMWA, NV Energy, N-DOW, and Washoe County Animal Services responded to get the deer warmed up, and stitched up. How the deer got into the canal isn’t clear, but they may have floated a mile before they got stuck in the power plant.
