(KOH) – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says a relationship breakup led to a man to jump from a car. About 6:30PM Thursday, deputies found a semi-conscious man with cuts and scrapes on his arms, face and head lying on the shoulder of the road in the area of Genoa and Galeppi Lanes in Genoa. His girlfriend told deputies she was driving with her boyfriend on Genoa Lane. As they were driving, she told him she wanted to break up with him. He asked if they could “work this out,” but when she said no, he opened the passenger door and jumped out.
Investigators estimated the car was traveling about 50mph at the time. When the man jumped, he landed on the shoulder of the road and rolled several times.
The man was stabilized on-scene by paramedics, and flown to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno for further care, but was released shortly thereafter with no severe injuries.
