More than 300 kids in Carson City, at 11 schools are getting brand new shoes.  For the 14th year the “Step into Spring” program is providing shoes to needy students in transition. Those are students who lack fixed and regular nighttime residences. School officials say the need for shoes is great, many students come to school with shoes that barely hold together. This year, Big 5 provided discounted shoes. They will be distributed through the week.
