(KOH) – The owner of a warehouse that has been the scene of four suspicious fires since March 11th has been put on notice by the Sparks City Council.  No one was hurt when the latest blaze broke out this week at the warehouse on Dermody Way east of the Nugget hotel-casino between Interstate 80 and the Truckee River.
But Sparks Fire Chief Chris Maples told KOLO-TV that responding to the fires with four engines and a truck company ties up his department’s valuable resources.  Maples says the warehouse has been abandoned for two years and is a frequent target of vandalism. The City Council voted to take matters into its own hands if the owner doesn’t clean and secure the building by the end of the month.
