Dayton Fire Caused by Motorcycle Racer

(KOH) – A brush fire northwest of Dayton was started by a competitor in the Virginia City Grand Prix.  According to Central Lyon County fire Battalion Chief Bob Ryser, a motorcycle rider fell over in dry grass and started the small fire, which has been stopped at less than an acre.  Fire officials are concerned that the fire could blow up with shifting winds in the area. A Nevada Division of Forestry hand crew is requested to work on the fire overnight.
