Deputies with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office have arrested the suspect in a shooting Tuesday night in Spanish Springs. Irving Hernandez was arrested Wednesday morning after a massive search in the area of Lazy 5 Regional Park off Pyramid Highway. Deputies say one girl who is also a suspect is in custody. Investigators say Hernandez was behind the shooting about 9 p.m. Tuesday, Ruddy Way and Talking Sparrow Drive in Spanish Springs. Deputies say an off-duty sergeant witnessed shots being fired from a silver vehicle near Talking Sparrow Drive. The shooting was reported to dispatch. As backup arrived, the suspect left the vehicle, since then determined to be stolen.
