The second year of construction on Highway 50 on the South Shore has started for 2018. CALTrans crews have resumed work on a 2 mile section of the highway between the “Y” to the Trout Creek Bridge, widening the road, adding bike lanes, switching out old traffic signals for new ones, and other infrastructure improvements. This work created a lot of back ups and delays last year, so plan some extra time if you’re traveling through there. Crews will be out working from 6am until 6pm, and the $56.9 million project is expected to wrap up sometime next year.
