Teenager Will be Charged as an Adult in Attempted Murder Case

A 15-year-old boy has been booked into the Washoe County jail, charged as an adult for an attempted murder from February. Richard Speedy faces charges of attempted murder, battery with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of stolen property. He had been held in the Jan Evans Juvenile Justice Center until the process of getting him charged as an adult was completed, according to the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office. Police say about 5:00 p.m. February 3rd, they responded to several 911 calls about a shooting in the 1200 block of Flora Glen Drive, south of the intersection of Sparks and Baring Boulevards. They found a man shot multiple times; he was taken by ambulance to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. He has since been released from the hospital and is recovering, according to police.
