In a national hookup between Reno and Washington DC, the City celebrated its selection for the federal drone pilot program, that will test delivery systems to develop safety standards. Senator Dean Heller was in  DC. with transportation secretary Elaine Chow, and nine other entities selected for the Presidents drone program.  Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve, and the leader of Flirtey, the drone company interrupted the City Council Meeting to be part of the social media stream. The Mayor was also joined in Reno by Daniel Elwell Deputy FAA administrator who says the program will allow Flirtey to test the delivery of life saving medical equipment to patients in distress, faster than ground crews.
