Reno Police Sergeant Wins Lawsuit Against The City of Reno

A Reno Police sergeant who was passed over for promotion to Lieutenant five times, despite scoring 90% on the exam, has won a lawsuit against the city. Reno has been order to pay Michael Browett 1.4 million dollars. Browett claimed he was retaliated against for taking family leave. The city plans to appeal the decision. Browett graduated firt in his class from the Northern Nevada Law Enforcement Academy, and had the top score on the Lt Exam. He claims the person most responsible for the retaliation, is then assistant chief, and now police chief Jason Soto.
