The Nevada Department of Agriculture they’re no longer looking for a transfer of ownership for more than 2,900 horses on the Virginia Range. The agency decided to withdraw requests for proposals to manage the horses because no one submitted a proposal by the April 16th deadline. The Virginia Range horses are considered “feral” livestock, and don’t fall under BLM wildhorse guidelines. They continue to be managed by the NDA until the agency can come up with another solution.
