Detectives of the regional Street Enforcement Team started an investigation after being contacted by multiple local pharmacies, reporting suspected fraudulent prescriptions being called in to the pharmacies. They were for promethazine with codeine, commonly known as “lean,” “sizzurp” and “purple drank.” S.E.T. Detectives were able to conduct an undercover operation at the time the suspects were arriving at a local pharmacy to pick up the medication. They arrested 34 year old Steven Sharp and 32 year old Matthew Farrington of California . They face numerous charges, including possession.
