Gary Schmidt says he’s not leaving the race against Ben Kieckhefer for Senate District 16 race, and will appeal his disqualification from the election. Incumbent Kieckhefer challenged Schmidt’s run because he said that Schmidt didn’t live in the district, and wasn’t qualified because Schmidt listed his residence as Reindeer Lodge, which was destroyed after heavy snow caved the roof in last year. A Carson City judge sided with Kieckhefer, and tossed Schmidt from the ballot.
