The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office confirms a suspect is dead and a deputy suffered non-life threatening injuries following an officer-involved shooting Saturday night, May 19.

The incident occurred on Shadow Lane in northern Douglas County near the intersection of Mica Drive and U.S. Highway 395.

Deputies say they responded to a call for a domestic dispute around 9:30 p.m. when the shooting occurred.

There were four deputies involved. One was hurt and taken to the hospital. The type of injury to that deputy is unclear at this time.

The Sheriff’s Office says there is no threat to the public and the street will be closed for the investigation.
