The El Dorado County District’s Office filed murder charges against David Paul DeMartile Sr. in the cold case 2008 murder of a three week old baby boy. The suspect is currently in state prison serving a 14 year prison sentence for burglary. The filing of charges is the result of extensive efforts by the recently reorganized El Dorado County Cold Case Task Force, the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office, and the South Lake Tahoe Police Department. The District Attorney’s Office will seek removal of DeMartile from state prison so he can be arraigned on the charges here in El Dorado County. The El Dorado County Cold Case Task Force, is committed to bringing justice to victims, no matter how long ago the crime occurred. The Task Force will continue to follow up on new leads.
