Looks like Lance Gilman, a Storey County Commissioner, will get his day in court, in a defamation suit he filed against Storey County Sheriff Gerald Antinoro. Judge James Todd Russell of the Storey County District Court ruled at a recent hearing that sufficient evidence exists to establish that Sheriff Gerald Antinoro lied in a public blog about Lance Gilman and the Mustang Ranch. Further, Judge Russell ruled that sufficient evidence also existed to establish that Antinoro lied with malice. Last year, Gilman filed a defamation case against the Sheriff for comments Antinoro made in a local blog, claiming that he had found working ladies at the Mustang Ranch without medical clearances, and that he had fined the Mustang as a result. Gilman says that’s false. A motion to dismiss the defamation suit was denied.
