Starting today, the Regional Transportation Commission is closing the Interstate 80 on- and off-ramps at E. 4th Street and Prater Way for construction, and they’ll stay closed 24 hours a day through Saturday June 16th. 4th/Prater will also be closed from El Rancho to Galletti.
The work is part of the ongoing RAPID Transit Project which is part of a $58-million community investment to better connect Reno and Sparks. The project also includes widening sidewalks, adding bike lanes, and moving some utilities underground. Business access will remain open during the closure, including Motel 6, Pony Express Lodge, McCarran Auto Body, Coney Island Bar, Metro City Carwash, Chevron, and the DMV. Just follow the detour signs and you’ll get where you’re going.
