Dem Congressional Candidate Says Trade Wars Will Kill U.S. Jobs

The leading democrat running for Congress in Nevada’s 2nd district, Clint Koble, is calling out the Trump administration over tariffs. The former State Executive Director of the federal Farm Services Agency says “American jobs are at stake here, as are our relationships with our best allies.” Koble is asking, “Why are we punishing our Canadian and Mexican neighbors? And making moves sure to hurt American farmers and manufacturers?” The U.S. Chamber estimates that pulling out of NAFTA alone would ‘kill as many as 1.8 million American jobs in the first year.’ Steel and aluminum tariffs could cost 470,000 jobs, and tariffs on car and auto parts another 157,000. Koble warns, these actions could well drive the American economy back into recession, and asks “And for what?” Koble is challenging incumbent Mark Amodei.
