A fatal shooting in the Mammoth Lakes area is under investigation. The Mammoth Lakes Police Department reports that a shooting occurred on Hillside Drive yesterday around 11:25 a.m. They were called to the scene by a man who had been shot in his home. When they arrived on scene, they were met with the victim who had been shot in the stomach. The victim said he was shot by another man in the residence but was able to wrestle control of the gun away from him and return fire, killing him. The victim was transported to the hospital, his condition has not been released.
