City of Reno Tightening Restriction on Pot Shops

The City of Reno is tightening restrictions on marijuana dispensaries. The City Council voted to limit hours to 8 am to midnight, starting September 1st. The council never considered allowing pot shops to be open till three in the morning. They’re also requiring shops to be 25 hundred feet apart from each other and at least 1,000 feet from schools. And the city is taking a bigger dip into revenue, dropping a 75 thousand dollar a year license fee, and replacing it with a 3% tax on a pot shops gross revenue. That could mean an extra 400 thousand per year.
