The Traner Pool repair and enhancement project has been completed in time for the facility’s grand reopening today at noon. The free community event includes a ribbon cutting, ice cream donated by Model Dairy and an open swim from 12:30 to 8 p.m. The Traner Pool facility was severely vandalized in March 2017, with significant damage occurring to the mechanical and electrical equipment. The pool, normally open during the summer months, was not in operation during summer 2017. The $1.2 million project was supported by donations from: William N. Pennington Foundation. Northern Nevada Building & Construction Trades Council Development Corporation, Lifestyle Homes and others with “In kind” services delivered by Farr West Engineering, and D&D Roofing.
