Washoe County School Trustees Will Vote on Proposed Superintendent Contract This Week

Washoe County School Trustees will vote on a proposed contract for Superintendent Traci Davis at its regular public meeting Tuesday. Under terms of the proposed contract, Superintendent Davis has agreed to eliminate a number of benefits from her reimbursement package, including, the longevity bonus, a 1/3rd year extra service credit payment, some mileage reimbursement, and a cut in payouts for unused sick leave. The contract also calls for virtually the same salary as her current contract, but fewer perks. Board President Katy Simon Holland says Davis is acutely aware of the budget challenges the District is facing, and volunteered to give up many of the benefits she was offered in the past.
