The Reno Rodeo Cattle Drive Rolls Through Town Today

It’s mostly a thing of the past, but it’s kept alive every year as part of the Reno Rodeo. The cattle drive comes through town today. It involves 60 guest cowhands, who drive 300 steers from Doyle California to Reno. They come from all over the world for something beyond a vacation, and they do it the old fashioned way, with supplies brought by horses, mules and wagons. When the drive comes into Reno, the Wildest Richest Rodeo in the West is officially ON. The rodeo cattle drive is scheduled to hit Oddie Blvd at noon, ramble down to McCarran Blvd, and then onto Sutro Street to the Livestock Events Center, if you’d like to see it.
