Washoe County Residents, Green Waste Day is Saturday

Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District encourages Washoe County residents to reduce the risk of wildfires in the Truckee Meadows. Take advantage of Saturday, June 23rd’s Green Waste Collection Day from 8 a.m. to noon and dispose of dry and dead vegetation, shrubs, tree branches, and other wildland fuels in an effort to create a defensible space to protect homes and property for wildfires. Additionally, green waste is reduced to compost and helps air quality levels as an alternative to burning. Items can be dropped off at TMFPD Station 223, 130 Nectar Street, Reno, and Station 16 on East Lake Boulevard, Washoe Valley. This is for Washoe County residents only, no contractors, and no grass clippings or household garbage will be accepted.
