Sparks Mayor Geno Martini said that everyone at the city of Sparks is deeply saddened by the sudden death of former Fire Chief Andy Flock. Martini calls Chief Flock, a great man who put his heart and soul into making our city a better place. Flock started his career with the city of Sparks Fire Department as a volunteer Firefighter in 1983 and moved his way up through the ranks, serving as Fire Chief for six and a half years before retiring in September 2013. He also spent 30 years serving in the Air National Guard and was an active volunteer in the community. Current Sparks Fire Chief Chris Maples Chief Flock made a lasting impact on those who were fortunate enough to have known him and served under him.
