A federal grand jury has returned four-related indictments, charging 20 alleged members of a Reno drug and gun trafficking organization, for their roles in a large-scale drug distribution ring that operated in the Reno area. Seventeen defendants are charged with conspiracy to possess and distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin, and three defendants are charged with firearms-related offenses. All of the suspects are from Reno except one who is from Simi Valley, California. Each defendant faces the maximum statutory penalty of life in prison and a fine of $10,000,000. According to allegations, from January 25th to June 14th the defendants conspired to possess and distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin in Reno and elsewhere. More than 18 pounds of methamphetamine has been seized from the gang.
