The Nevada Highway Patrol confirmed three fatalities Sunday due to an accident earlier in the morning on I-80, near USA Parkway.

Police said the accident happened around 1 a.m. Sunday morning after a wrong-way driver hit a car going westbound head-on.

NHP closed both westbound and eastbound traffic in order to give CareFlight room to land.

All lanes were cleared by 4:30 a.m.
