South Lake Tahoe Police are investigating the death of a man from a shooting.

Around 5:30 p.m. yesterday, police said they were called to the Tahoe Verde Mobile Home Park at Julie Lane, where shots had been fired.

They found a man lying in the road with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Barton Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

With the help of the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department, State Park Rangers, and The California Highway Patrol, a perimeter was established around a home where the alleged shooter was barricaded inside.

Officers evacuated nearby homes as a precaution.

Police say the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody. His name has not been released; nor has the name of the victim.
