Firefighters are looking for a vehicle of interest, a green lifted Jeep Cherokee with a LED light bar on the roof in connection with the Evans Fire. It was 70% contained as of last night.. The latest estimate is that the fire is 63 acres and was human-caused, though no specific cause has been determined by investigators. Crews from the U.S. Forest Service, Nevada Division of Forestry, the Bureau of Land Management and Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District are on scene. The fire in the Hunter Creek area, west of Reno in Evans Canyon near the Mount Rose Wilderness area, was reported about 8:14 a.m. Sunday. The fire burned in an area that is extremely steep with dense vegetation and timber.
