The Reno Rodeo Foundation is joining Artown’s Family Series with an evening of rodeo activities, interactive art and western heritage for kids on Monday, July 9. The free family-friendly event in Wingfield Park features a kid rodeo with stick horse rides around mini barrels, pole races and dummy steer roping from 6-7 p.m. followed by cowboy storytelling and sing-alongs from 7-8 p.m. Families can also enjoy free face painting, clowns and a petting zoo. Performance sponsor Michael & Son’s Jewelry Co. presents country entertainer Tex Weir who will sing his famous children’s cowboy sing-a long songs, along with cowboy storytelling put on by Jessi LeMay, owner and creator of The Folk & The Lore and producer of the Reno Rodeo 100 project.
