The Douglas County Sheriff’s office has launched an investigation after a woman’s body was found in a field in the Gardnerville Ranchos. The body was discovered around noon yesterday off Dresslerville Road, between Muir Drive and Riverview Drive. According to investigators, the woman is believed to be about 58 years old. Her body had been in the field for at least a week. Investigators say they have identified her but have not released her name pending notification of next of kin.
