Discarded Cigarette Believed to be The Cause of Sun Valley Fire

A person discarding a lit cigarette may be responsible for a fire that started on Medeiros Circle in Sun Valley Thursday afternoon. The fire broke out around 2pm. Truckee Meadows Fire says a travel trailer was destroyed and the exteriors of two homes sustained minor fire damage. Fire Chief Moore said multiple properties were threatened and firefighters initiated evacuations from the homes. One person was treated at the scene and released.
