Dispute Over Parking Led to Tahoe Stabbing

A dispute over a parking space led to a confrontation and a stabbing Thursday morning in South Lake Tahoe. It happened at CVS on Lake Tahoe Blvd. about 10:30 a.m. Police say 71 year old Paul Ivanovsky, of Sparks parked in front of the CVS. 51 year old Scott Nevin, of San Jose parked nearby and confronted Ivanovsky about the parking spot. Ivanovsky sprayed Nevin with pepper spray and Nevin took it away from him and sprayed Ivanovsky with it, police say. Ivanovsky got out of the vehicle and Nevin hit him several times in the face and head. Ivanovsky pulled out a knife and stabbed Nevin once, then got into his car and waited for police. Neither party was arrested and both are cooperating with police. Both were taken to Barton Memorial Hospital for treatment.
