Crews Knock Down Multiple Wildfires Thursday

One home suffered minor damage in a brush fire last night in southeast Reno. The fire was first reported around 9pm in the area of Caughlin Parkway and Bradford Lane. Fire officials say the fire burned about two acres. No injuries were reported, and no word yet on a cause.

 

Reno Fire crews knocked out a brush fire in Lemmon Valley that started behind homes just west of Highway 395. The fire was first reported about 3:45PM at Lemmon Drive and Heindel Road. Winds actually helped move the fire away from homes, so no evacuations were necessary. About two acres were burned, the cause remains under investigation.

 

Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District knocked out a small fire near Washoe Lake . The fire was reported about 11:30AM at Eastlake Boulevard and Old 395 Thursday. Truckee Meadows Fire and Nevada Division of Forestry fought the fire, which grew to about a quarter acre.
