The Second Judicial District Court and Washoe County Sheriff’s Office continue to receive reports from the public about an ongoing phone scam in which the scammers identify themselves as Sheriff’s Office personnel or District Court personnel and request personal information.
Scammers claim the recipients owe fines, failed to appear for jury service, or must provide addresses so important documentation can be mailed. District Court and WCSO are reminding the public that they do not call to request monetary fines or personal information.
