$226,000 in federal funding for “AlertTahoe” to protect communities against devastating wildfires in the Lake Tahoe Basin is on the way. The additional federal funding will help AlertTahoe upgrade its cameras and install new cameras with the latest firefighting technologies across the Lake Tahoe Basin. Senator Dean Heller last month urged the USDA to fully fund the AlertTahoe Fire Monitoring and Early Detection Warning System in Nevada, calling the innovative camera system a “Worthwhile investment.”
