Washoe County District Attorney’s Office has gotten a guilty verdict in a felony hit and run case. 26 year old Eric Jerell Mathis represented himself in the case and will be sentenced on August 30th. The case against Mathis stemmed from a December 16, 2016 Incline Village accident. Washoe County deputies were dispatched to a report of drag racing in the area of Southwood Boulevard. Prior to deputies arriving, Mathis crashed his Honda Civic into a parked car and then crashed his own car into a ditch after striking a pedestrian. When deputies arrived on scene, Mathis ran for it. Mathis was also found to be intoxicated and was ultimately arrested for driving under the influence as well as for the hit and run. The DUI charge against Mathis is still
pending in Sparks Justice Court.
