The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office says the body of a woman missing since last week has been found. The discovery came Monday, after a fresh search for 80-year-old Barbara Volz was triggered by the discovery of her car in the hills north of Spanish Springs. Search and rescue crews and members of the HASTY team searched the area of Encanto Drive off Pyramid Highway, looking for Volz, who was last reported seen alive July 19th while driving her Toyota Camry in the area of Red Rock Road and U.S. 395. The body was found by a Sheriff’s Office RAVEN helicopter crew in the brush half a mile from where the car was found.
