One person is dead following a shooting at a Fallon church Sunday. The victim has been identified as 61 year old Charles “Bert” Miller. A press conference was held yesterday where Fallon Police Chief Kevin Gehman and Fallon Mayor Ken Tedford revealed some details of the shooting at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Richards Street. Gehman said 48-year-old John Kelley O’Connor walked into the church just before 1 p.m. and fired shots, then left the church and walked home. O’Connor surrendered after being contacted by police. Mayor Tedford said, “Our hearts go out to family members of those who have lost someone and those who were in the church today where the tragedy occurred.”

Police do not believe O’Connor was targeting the church, but a specific person.
