The Coalition to Defeat Question 3 applauded four leading Nevada clean energy advocacy groups for opposing Question 3, a constitutional amendment on this November’s ballot that critics say would dismantle Nevada’s existing electricity system. The Sierra Club, the Natural Resources Defense Council, Southwest Energy Efficiency Project, and Western Resource Advocates announced their opposition to Question 3 because, if passed, Question 3 would damage clean energy growth in Nevada. Tracy Skenandore of the Coalition to Defeat Question 3 says clean energy advocates recognize that Question 3 would be damaging to Nevada’s rooftop solar programs, cancel plans to double clean energy production in the state, and be a setback for existing state laws and policies designed to spur growth in our renewable energy sectors.
