Crews Stop Progress of The Mira Loma Fire

Crews are on scene of a 15 acre brush fire near Mira Loma Drive and Veterans Pkwy in southeast Reno. Officials say the Mira Loma Fire is 30 percent contained, and forward progress has been stopped. Fire engines were used to protect homes and other buildings, but flames never got close to any structures.  Officials believe the fire was caused by lightning. The Washoe County RAVEN helicopter crew made 28 drops for a total of 6,480 gallons of water as part of the fight last night.
