Following the outcry of hundreds of residents, the Bureau of Land Management’s plan to remove around 70 horses from the Fish Springs herd near the Pine Nut Mountain range is off for now. The gather was expected to start some time around the 1st of August with a bait and water trap, but that’s now on hold while advocates, and the BLM, work toward the next step. The Pine Nut Wild Horse Advocates have long wanted to resume their fertility control program by darting mares with PZP, a horse contraceptive.
