Reno Police have arrested a woman for a hit-and-run that left a man critically injured Tuesday morning. Police say the man was crossing South Virginia near Gentry, not in a crosswalk, shortly before 5AM when he was hit by a driver. That driver then fled the scene. Police estimate it was several minutes before anyone saw him in the road and he was taken to a hospital. He sustained critical head trauma. Police reviewed surveillance from area businesses in hopes of getting a vehicle description, then tracked the vehicle around yesterday afternoon in the parking lot of an apartment complex. Investigators then identified a suspect, 39-year-old Josie Lopez, who was arrested a few hours later.
