The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying whoever is involved in destruction of property. Three metal water troughs 1.5 miles into the Pine Nuts near Fish Springs in Gardnerville intended for wild horses were damaged on private property. Someone stared shooting at the troughs sometime between July 29th and the 31st.
The three troughs are valued a total of $1400.00 and classified as a felony crime due to the amount of property damage. Bentley general manager Matt McKinney said “That land is Bentley private property, and there is no trespassing on the property and anyone trespassing could be subject to prosecution.”
