With 79 percent containment at 51,400 acres, national fire teams are turning the Perry Fire over to local crews.

The fire southwest of Pyramid Lake has cost $2.6 million so far to fight.

The fire was ignited July 29 by Reno local David Randoski, who has been charged with two counts of first degree arson and 41 counts of third degree arson.

Due to reduced burning, there is no longer a night shift for firefighters.
